SCA Applet Development Toolkit

Download the Applet Development Toolkit (560KB)

The SCA Applet Development Toolkit contains Fortran source code that may be merged directly with the source code of applet programs. If you are developing applets using Fortran and are in need of a compiler, we recommend the Lahey Fortran 90 or the Lahey Fortran 95 compiler. Although you may use any Fortran compiler for development purposes, we have found the Lahey compilers to be very stable and powerful. If you would like to purchase the Lahey Fortran compiler, you may obtain it through SCA. You may also purchase IMSL libraries and other productivity tools at discounted prices. For more information, please call (708) 771-4567.

 Applets Developed Using Other Languages

If you are using other programming language such as C, C++, Visual C++, or Visual Basic to develop applet programs, please contact SCA for a DLL version of the SCA Applet Development Toolkit.

 Distributing User-developed Applet Programs

You may offer your applet programs to the SCA user community by becoming an SCA Applet Development Partner. There is no cost involved. However, all applet programs must be submitted to SCA for testing and approval before we will promote any applet to the general SCA user community. Depending on the nature of your applet program, you may distribute it as shareware (free software) or as a purchasable item. SCA can assist you in preparing your applet for distribution by,

  • customizing an installation program for applet programs using industry standard installation software
  • assisting you in creating help files for your applet that are accessible through the SCA WorkBench help-viewer
  • listing your applet programs on our Website and in promotional mailings
  • invoicing, sales processing, product distribution, and accounting for royalty distributions if your applet is distributed as a purchasable item
  • providing direct technical support to SCA System users who are using your applet programs on the condition that you provide back-end support to SCA's technical support staff
